If anyone knows me, they know my (perhaps extreme...) love for cats. I love all sorts of cats-- strays, pure breeds, big cats, teeny-tiny little baby cats. I love, especially, black cats. I love how they look like mini-panthers! It doesn't hurt, I suppose, that I have several black cats. Cats make me happy.

God gives us all sorts of good things that make us happy. He gives us family, friends, a church community, fellow LGP leaders, good food, warm homes... all good things flow from our God (cats included!).

But it's so easy to forget the good and to get caught up in all the bad things around us. Our focus tends to drift towards the negative: COVID-19, money woes, broken friendships, family turmoil... But, lift up your heads, sisters! God never promised an easy or trial free life! Anyone who reads the book of Job in the Old Testament can see that bad things happen to good people!

But the Bible reminds us time and time again not to allow the whirlwind of negativity that encompasses our lives to sweep us away from God! God's Word reminds us that no matter the situation, our God is in control! James 1:2-3 says, "Count it joy, my brothers (and sisters), when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness." and Romans 8:18 reminds us, "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us."

So, my sisters in Christ, stay steadfast, looking forward to the glory that awaits each of us, knowing that the trials and tribulations of this world are not everlasting, but merely a bump in the road to our Savior! Love on the people (and cats) that God has placed in your life, being reminded that while good times are not promised to any of us, the bad times will pass away and for eternity, we will be filled with nothing but joy!

Loyal to Christ, Christine
