Salt Dough Ornaments
One of my favorite things to do at Christmastime is to craft! An easy and fun craft idea is to make salt dough Christmas ornaments.
It's so simple! Just follow the directions below and make a bunch of these beautiful (and great smelling!) ornaments for your tree or make as gifts!
Salt Dough Ornaments
1 cup salt
2 cups flour
2 tablespoon cinnamon
3/4 cup boiling water
Mix everything together-- if it's sticky, add a little bit of flour (you don't want it sticky). Roll out the dough like cookie dough. Using Christmas cookie cutters, cut out shapes. Place cut-outs on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Using a straw, poke a hole at the top of each cut-out. Let dry overnight. The next day, bake at 120 degrees for 3 hours. Let cool.
Using acrylic paints and glitter, decorate your ornaments. String yarn through the hole and tie to make a hanger. Hang on the tree!
Take a picture with your ornaments and send it to me! I'd love to see all the fun you're having!
Your Friend, Christine
The angel said to the shepherds, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth, peace to those on whom his favor rests." Luke 2:10-14
